No Shame! Trying to view sperm under a microscope having some problems. : biology
Are there any particular requirements other than magnification level? And is it necessary to prepare the sample (semen) in any way to support optimal viewing? I've googled and googled, and haven't been able to find what would seem to me to be info about a very basic high school science experiment!.
Mar 25, A semen microscope or sperm microscope is used to identify and count sperm. These microscopes are used when breeding animals or for examining human fertility. You can view sperm at x magnification. You do NOT want a microscope that advertises anything above x, it is just empty.

Description:The device works by recording a small amount of semen, which needs to be placed on a plastic sheet around five minutes after ejaculation: What might be most promising about the device is its success rate. The LED light is cool and will not heat up or kill any living sperm in case you wish to view mobility. Advertisement To do a home test, a man would have to wait for around five minutes after ejaculation for the semen to liquefy, then apply a small amount to a plastic sheet and press it against the microscope for inspection. A 3-second clip is enough for an expert to gauge the numbers of sperm and check how well they're moving, though it's not possible to fully assess the ability of the sperm to fertilise an egg — as it's just a basic assessment designed to spot the most obvious potential problems. You should be able to make out that sperm is present with x 10x X 10x , and should be able to see individual sperm at x. Both coarse and fine focusing make it easy to focus in on the sperm.
